Any unwanted software that intrudes into a computer network, system or device to steal sensitive information and internet usage data is called spyware. Security professionals categorise spyware as a type of malicious malware that malicious actors design to access and damage computers. Often, spyware infiltrates a computer or network without the knowledge of the target victim. Hackers use the programs to gather personal information, which is subsequently sent to external users, data firms and advertisers. Criminals can also use spyware for other reasons, such as keeping track of internet data usage, which is then sold to third parties without the user’s knowledge. In some other cases, hackers can use spyware to steal personal information like identity, credit card and bank details.
