What should my cyber security training experience be like?

This is a tricky one to answer, as we believe that for training to be truly valuable, it needs to be bespoke, relevant, relatable and regularly refreshed.  Training should demonstrate how it applies to everyone taking part, how it relates to their day-to-day and why it’s important.  Using examples and scenarios, ideally tailored to your business or industry, can keep participants engaged with group discussions and exercises helping to make sure the training is really taken on board.  Training should reflect the needs of your business and your people, so your experience will, and should, always be unique to you.

With general staff awareness training we have developed courses that are only technical where they need to be.  At this level we would expect people to be engaged and curious to learn more after the training, so making everything accessible and relevant is central to an impactful experience.

At a leadership level, or with training focused on more technical aspects, you should expect to be involved in a discovery process with your training provider as all leadership teams are structured differently and with more technical topics it’s important to have an understanding of the technical capability within the business.
