What is a Trojan?

< All Topics

A Trojan is a type of malware that misleads users from its real objective. Generally, Trojans are spread using social engineering techniques. For example, cyber-criminals can trick users into downloading an email attachment designed to conceal its suspicious nature. Another example of how a Trojan spreads involves an entity that dupes clients into clicking/opening a fake advertisement on the internet or social media. Many modern Trojans provide attackers with unauthorised access to computers, allowing them to access personal information. Hackers may also utilise this vulnerability to delete critical files or to infect other devices.
